Liska
is modeling "Nantucket 2" for me today. She is a 37 inch tall Himstedt
with a waist chest measurement of 16~1/2 inches.
The finished length of her dress is 23~1/2 inches and the finished length
of the petticoat is 17 inches.
The fabrics used in Liska's outfit are titled "Nantucket" and come from
the "Quest for a Cure" collection by Northcott. They are 100% cotton and
are of the highest quality.
The dress has a fully lined bodice, one piece collar, elbow length sleeves
and full skirt. The dress fabric has a pretty mottled blue background
and is printed with baskets of blue and purple hydrangeas, butterflies,
heart shaped floral wreaths and signs that say hydrangeas.
I have made the sleeves long enough to cover the elbow joints that some
of the larger dolls have and trimmed them with a white floral Venise lace.
The same lace also trims the collar. The dress buttons down the front
with faux pearl buttons and the hem is sewn in by hand with nearly invisible
stitches!
Under her dress Liska is modeling a pretty little petticoat. The fabric
is a companion print printed with butterflies in wonderful shades of blue
on a blue background. It has an encased elastic waist and full ruffle
along the bottom. The bottom of the ruffle is trimmed with the same floral
Venise lace as was used on her dress. The hem has been sewn in by hand
so there are no unsightly stitches showing!
To top it all off there is a competely reversible muffin style hat. I
used the floral print on one side and the butterfly print on the other.
White piping trims the brim and a removable fabric flower accents the
front.
